A non-corporate approach for Wilsons

Wilson HTM’s new brand identity of ‘Wilsons’ and the relocation to Governor Macquarie Tower was strategic. It signified a fresh start to a central location that was more accessible to their Clients.

Important factors for the success of this project was to provide a space that would improve Wilsons’ level of client service, enable increased collaboration for a creative culture, allow for flexible desking, maximise space efficiencies with well-considered spatial planning, provide a positive work environment with operational efficiency and a non-conformist workplace to bring the client and Wilsons together. Its was an opportunity to portray to staff that Wilsons are different to their major competitors.

The design response was to create a boutique hotel experience, a place to welcome visitors in a warm and friendly environment, a non-corporate approach. The reception desk is visually recessive rather than imposing - a walnut and bronze clad table. Visitors are led into a lounge area with adjoining bar and a sweeping view of the harbour out to the heads. This is where relationships are formed and strengthened in a less formal setting, with supporting more professional meeting spaces adjoining.

The working space is open plan with supporting open and closed collaboration spaces for confidential and shared conversations. The staff are a young demographic who cycle into work, the work space supports their healthy culture.
